COMING SOON

For those who would like to try something different with clay, this is an inspiring and creative sculpture course involving interesting sculptural processes – clay modelling and casting in plaster to create relief sculpture.
During the first part of the course, we will work from a photo of a serene and decorative head and through a guided and gradual process of building up up form in clay, you will learn how to model a head and create the interesting decorative features in relief.
In the second part of the course, you will choose an image/design of your choice (it could be a photo, a painting or an existing sculpture or a design of your own) and we will guide in in how to build up overlapping form in clay to create a relief sculpture.
You will then cast your clay relief sculptures first in alginate to create a negative form and then in plaster to create your finished piece which can then be painted.
The course is for a small group and is a great opportunity to explore your creativity in a supportive and friendly environment.
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience
A playful and freeing course for people who want to tap into their creativity that may have been buried since childhood. For people who think they can't draw and who do not think they are artistic but have a feeling they would like to try!
Each class will begin with drawing exercises which are about learning to look and letting your hand follow your eye rather than the other way round and not worrying about the outcome.
The drawings you do will act as inspiration for work we will do in the rest of the class which will develop skills with colour and design through collage and printmaking and painting
The course is for a small group of people and is an opportunity to explore your inner creativity in a supportive and friendly environment.
